To make one rate free, such as Standard or UPS Ground, while Express and overnight stay full price, use RM: Advanced Free Shipping. A store uses live UPS rates. At checkout, a $90 order shows UPS® Ground at $11.40, UPS 2nd Day Air at $27.80 and UPS Next Day Air at $46.10. The offer is free Ground shipping on orders of $75 or more.

Carrier rate names can vary at checkout, so the rate is added as a keyword: type “Ground” and choose Add “Ground” (wildcard match). It matches any rate whose name contains “Ground”, ignoring upper and lower case.
On a heavier order, Ground might cost $31 while a lighter order’s 2nd Day Air costs $24. A price cap can’t tell them apart. A name can, so Ground stays free whatever it costs.

How to choose an app for rate targeting
- Exact names and keywords. Picking a rate from a list should match it exactly. Typing a keyword should match every rate that contains it. RM: Advanced Free Shipping does both, and fills the list from your delivery profiles, including carrier service names.
- Cheapest rate. For carriers whose names change often, look for a “cheapest rate” option worked out at checkout, per shipment. RM: Advanced Free Shipping has Cheapest shipping rate.
- A price ceiling as well. Exclude rates over a certain amount skips any rate above the Maximum eligible rate, on top of the names you chose.
- Different discounts on different rates. Free Standard and $10 off Express in one discount. RM: Advanced Free Shipping does this with Add delivery discount.
- More than free. Percentage, Fixed Amount Off and Fixed Price as well as Free.
- Conditions. 17 condition types, with AND/OR rule groups, so the rate offer can depend on the cart, products, location or customer.

RM: Advanced Free Shipping discounts rates and never hides them, so customers still see Express at its normal price.
Set it up
- Click Create Shipping Discount and choose Automatic discount or Discount code under Discount method.
- Under Conditions, add Cart total Is at least 75.
- Under Discount setup, choose Shipping, then Choose specific rates. Pick your rate from the list, or type a keyword and choose the wildcard match.
- Under Discount value, choose Free.
- To take $10 off a faster rate as well, open the ⋯ menu on Discount setup and choose Add delivery discount.
- Click Create discount.
