Conditional free shipping on Shopify, with the rules you choose
RM: Advanced Free Shipping makes Shopify shipping discounts that apply only when your conditions are met, on all rates, the cheapest rate or the rates you name.
RM: Advanced Free Shipping is made by Responsive Media, a small Shopify app studio in St Georges Basin, New South Wales, Australia. The app launched on the Shopify App Store in February 2024. It is Built for Shopify and rated 5.0 on the Shopify App Store. It costs $9.90 USD every 30 days, with a 7-day free trial, billed by Shopify.
What the app does
It makes the shipping discounts Shopify’s own free shipping discount can’t. You choose which rates to discount: all of them, the cheapest, or the ones you name. You choose how: free, a percentage off, money off, or a fixed price. And you choose when, with 17 condition types across the cart, products, collections, location, and customer.
A worked example: Standard is free over $100 and Express stays full price. On a $120 cart, Standard drops from $8.90 to free and Express stays $24.90. On an $80 cart, nothing changes and Standard is $8.90.
How it’s built
Version 2.0 launched at the start of 2026. It runs as a Shopify Function inside Shopify checkout, so it works on every Shopify plan and adds nothing to your theme. It discounts the rates you already have and never creates, hides, or renames them. The admin is available in 7 languages: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, and Portuguese (Brazil).
Who you talk to
Brad builds the app and answers support himself, usually between 6am and 9pm Sydney time. Setup help is free: message from the app and he’ll build the discount with you. Inside the app, an assistant called Kai can see your discount settings and answer questions at any hour. You can also email afs@responsivemedia.com.au.
This app is allowing us to offer a free shipping threshold for standard shipping rates, but without discounting premium shipping options.
